I’ve been seriously impressed with the range of styles available in stores this year, both for Spring and Summer. The pastel trend, as you may know, has been a dream-come-true for me, along with lace and flute sleeves!
With the commencement of June comes the beginning of Summer sales, probably the most popular sale of the year after post-Christmas sale. It’s super-exciting to shop, as you can pick up some gorgeous pieces ready for the hot weather or your holiday for a really great price. I’ve picked out a few of my favourite fashion ideas and accessories from this year’s Summer sale, ready to buy as soon as the next pay comes in! I’m excited to share my picks with you as I’ve been so impressed with the range of pretty products available.
Of course, all of my picks are currently on sale (when creating this post) so, if you love these pieces as much as I do, get shopping fast before stock runs out or the sale period ends! If you don’t see your size available, don’t give up – keep refreshing a few times a day and it’s almost guaranteed to re-appear at some point. Each product link opens up a new window, so you can build your own wishlist as you read!
I’m obsessed with the pretty colours in this outfit. The Ted Baker top is a gorgeous feminine design that can be dressed both up and down, either with a skirt or these white skinny trousers with embroidered ankles. The Dorothy Perkins handbag is a simple yet stylish design that is a perfect size for everyday use as well as drinks out in the evening, and the gold bangle adds a classy finish to the look.
The handbag is complimented so well by the stunning pink shoes from Topshop (I’ve actually ordered these already, I can’t risk them running out of my size!). They have a slight 60s vibe to them thanks to the double-style buckles on both the toe and ankle straps. I actually really love the shape of the ankle strap; it’s flattering and looks like it would be a comfortable shoe to wear. Of course, my favourite part is the dusky pink colour!
The sunglasses from Guess add a statement to the entire outfit and I really like the ombré effect across the lenses – these are perfect for summer!
I adore this striped dress, too! It’s the perfect dress for holidays or summer walks when the weather is too hot and you need a light, airy layer on. The frilled sleeves and hem are so pretty and add a girly touch to the piece, as well as the waist-tie design. The sunglasses from Quay Australia match the dress wonderfully, too. I’ll definitely be picking these up – the white rims and oversized lenses scream 60’s summer!
The shoes are a gorgeous addition to the dress – mules are a big trend this year and I was surprised to find such a lovely pair in the sales! They look to be high in quality but I’d like to try them out first… I’m not too sure if they look comfy enough for longer walks, but I think they’d be ideal for casual social events.
I’ve also fallen in love with the Ted Baker 2-piece handbag. It has a beautiful floral print and the cutest little bow on the front of both the bag and the insert. I’ve always loved Ted Baker bags due to their high quality and durability, so this is something else I’ll be picking up as soon as possible – it’s so summery and something I could get plenty of use out of. I LOVE IT.
This is definitely my favourite outfit combination of all. The Topshop co-ord is the cutest! The top and shorts have a broderie design and the frilled hems add a nice fitted shape to both pieces. The cropped top has lovely ties on each shoulder to add some fun to the outfit, whilst the shorts have a double-breasted design which adds a high-quality, more formal look. I initially found the two pieces separately, but I think they really do have to sit together – it’s the most beautiful combo. It can easily be worn with either some comfy sandals or dressy heels.
Speaking of beautiful, the Kate Spade handbag fits in well with the straw-like trend that grew rapidly during Spring this year. It’s a bag that can be worn both casually and formally thanks to the contrasting colours and textures. It comes with a shoulder strap, making it easy to take on longer walks through sunny towns. I could definitely picture myself strolling through a beach town with this.
The shoes match well with the clothing and hangbag, whilst adding a touch of glam to the outfit! They’re great for everyday wear during Summer and I particularly love the shiny stones/beads across the front. The added accessories suit the sandals nicely – some simple gold studs and gorgeous bar sunglasses from Aldo (at an amazing price, may I say).
This skirt isn’t my usual style, but something about it appeals to me. I like the button-down design as well as the frilled waistline – it creates quite a flattering fit and is the perfect length for me. Polka dots appear to be becoming more of a trend and I’m also trying to add other colours into my wardrobe, so I think this skirt is a great start.
A simple cami vest tucked into the skirt is all this outfit needs, as the skirt is certainly the statement piece and anything extreme on top would clash. The extra details are all in the accessories!
I was very happy to stumble across these shoes on Aldo’s website. I love the Valentino stud style and they add a classy, expensive touch to the outfit, as well as the statement earrings which create a formal vibe, too. Finishing the outfit off is the stunning fiery red Michael Kors bag which I absolutely want to get my hands on. The studs match nicely with the shoes and the colour fits well with the bright skirt. Again, it adds a much more expensive look to the otherwise basic Summer outfit.
I spent a long time searching through the Summer sales for these pieces and I hope you love them as much as I do! Each product is linked in the caption of the picture it features in, and remember, sale items sell fast. Again, apologies if some items are no longer on sale when you click the product link – keep checking back!
