Happy bank holiday! ♥
There are so many beauty, skincare and lifestyle products on the market nowadays, it can be difficult to know which to choose. So much psychology goes into designing the packaging and appearance of products as well as the physical formula, to persuade you that it’s worth a little bit more money. Blogs and social media can be so beneficial when trying to find some tried and tested products – although some content can be sponsored by brands, most bloggers or influencers (myself included) ensure that every opinion stated about the products are honest and genuine.
My trip to France is fast approaching and, being the slightly obsessive organiser that I am, I’m in the process of making my ‘things to pack’ list. 5 products were instantly written down, either because I use them everyday or they’re super useful! I thought a blog post would be the perfect way to share them with you…
This pillow spray goes everywhere with me: hotels, my boyfriend’s house, holidays!
The product contains a combination of lavender and camomile and has a calming scent to it. It’s free from nasties such as fragrance and sulphates meaning I’m happy to put this on my bed sheets, close to my face.
Many people are quite sceptical about ‘sleep’ products but, since I began using thisworks’ pillow spray, I’ve had a better night’s sleep and have woken up feeling more refreshed in the morning. Within 10 minutes of lying down in bed, I start to feel sleepy and struggle to keep my eyes open. There are, of course, a number of factors that can help and hinder the ability to fall asleep, but I truly believe this product has helped me and I wouldn’t be anywhere without it!
Another product I cannot live without and will continue to buy!
I recently began using hair masks in the shower each week as I felt that my hair was becoming too dry and needed a bit of TLC. I don’t apply heat to my hair very often but I have had it coloured a number of times and the effects can be quite drying and damaging on your ends.
The Luseta Coconut Milk hair mask is my absolute favourite to use because it leaves my hair feeling soft, smooth and tangle-free. I like buying the smaller, sample-sized tubes (when I can find them) because they’re ideal for storing in a travel bag. Most hair masks come in pretty big pots that aren’t always practical when you’re wanting to take them away.
The product itself is light and creamy: I’m pretty much obsessed with anything coconut (apart from coconut water – never again). It applies easily to wet hair and works best if it’s left in for 5 minutes or so. My hair gets a quick boost of everything it needs to remain healthy and nourished, whilst gaining a smooth and conditioned finish. It also smells gorgeous!
These makeup brush cleansing cloths by ecoTools will also be accompanying me on my holiday – although brushes do need a good soak every now and again, these cloths are a quick and easy way to remove daily makeup and keep them clean. I won’t be wearing much makeup during my holiday, so they’ll be useful for a quick clean.
The cloths contain fruit extracts and aloe, meaning they’re non-irritable and don’t leave any oil on your hands are use. They’re also cruelty-free which is a feature I’ve begun looking for more often when shopping for makeup or skincare products.
These aren’t the cheapest brush cleansing cloths around but I think the natural qualities make them worth the money, and a pack usually lasts me between 1-2 months.
If you haven’t already noticed, I’ve become a little obsessed with Tropic Skincare’s products. Many people want to move towards a more natural skincare and beauty routine, but find that ‘natural’ products either aren’t completely natural or just smell a bit odd. Tropic’s products ARE 100% natural and the majority of them smell divine, too. The Face Smooth exfoliator is now my favourite to use, and not just because of its natural qualities.
The micro-particles that exfoliate your skin don’t feel like sandpaper (as a number of products I’ve tried do) on your face and aren’t irritable on sensitive skin. After washing this off, my face feels SO smooth and my makeup applies really nicely the following morning. I couldn’t recommend this enough and I use it 2-3 times a week.
The 5th product I couldn’t live without is Garnier’s honey bee strengthening hair serum. Although I wouldn’t class my hair as severely damaged, I am prone to split ends if I curl my hair too often and this serum is a life-saver.
After curling or straightening my hair, I like to apply a small amount of this onto my fingers and brush it lightly through the lower lengths and ends. It doesn’t weigh my hair down at all; it looks shinier and feels strong and healthy.
If I’m heading somewhere that’s likely to dry out my hair (such as the beach or somewhere else windy) I apply a drop of serum onto towel-dried hair as well, to protect it and avoid the ends drying out over the day.
Each of these products have become favourites because of their practicality, quality and effect – they all have high value for money and I’ll be re-purchasing each of them as soon as they run out!
These will all be accompanying me on my travels to France as well as my latest fashion purchases – enter your email address in the sidebar on the right to keep up with my adventures and new purchases over my holiday!
